With several release dates pushed back, and the movie off the calendar entirely at the moment, production is still moving along for "Avatar 2." And frankly, one has to wonder how much development money has already been poured by 20th Century Fox into the sequel at this point, but at any rate, last we heard, filming will be kicking off in April. So perhaps there will be some official word coming along very soon. And though cagey, James Cameronrecently provided on a small update on the status of the movie and it sounds like things are moving forward.“We do performance capture work. You have to think of it more like aThe Dark Horse." However, beyond that, he wasn't saying anything else.

So, it looks like the ping pong balls, body fitting suits, and 3D cameras are rolling, or will soon be rolling. As for when we'll see "Avatar 2"? Not until 2018 at the earliest considering it was recently pushed off its December 2017 release date.
